Blog # 5

Today I partnered up with Camille. Since she was pretty set on her focus we went through a quick talk a loud to see what it was and were she was going. She said she had problems with the organization so we decided to do matrices and color coding ... We put purple matrices around things we could lose or not need and pink around thte strong points that would help make her point for the paper.. Then when the roles flip flopped we read my paper and she helped me to limit my focus to make my paper stronger. We made a bumper sticker title which believe it or not i found very helpful to get my point across to start revising my paper. Then she had me highlight things that would be helpful to my new found topic... I would definatly use these statigies in a tutoring session becuase if it could help me, it could help someone else. These past two tutoring sessions really helped me to open my eyes to new stratiges to get a student interested and to understand how to go somewhere with their assignments and papers. :)

Hey guys!!! Today i got to be the tutor, Nick was an awesome student, he had many questions and we found that his main problem was focus. After asking many questions on what he was writing and where he wanted to go with it, we found that we needed to cut his topic so it wasn't as broad as it was. After being the student last week I used alot of the same techniques Dr. Chandler had used when I was the student. Nick explained what he wanted to get across and how he could get it across. He took lots of notes and asked tons of questions, which was refreshing because its exciting when a student really does care about their work. Over all I'd say our session was a very sucessful one. With encouragement and a little bit of direction Nick seemed happy and had an idea where he was going to go with his paper. I felt he was sure of his paper when we were done hopefully I was some kind of help to him :)

hey guys sorry I've been so behind.. my lifes been a little crazy but now i have time to catch up... Blog 3 is about my philosophy on writing i tend to agree most is Collaberation. Experence and learning from others people tends to help us and others as well. Though collaberation can be harmful to some, I feel if used properly it can be a great help to many. Collaberation can help with ideas, a writing direction, grammer and spelling and so much more. But the only thing that can be dangerous with collaberation is, it is no longer your own and others ideas may and can change a writers mind and make the whole process more complicated. But for a student like my self i feel collaberation is the most helpful for myself... Others maybe diffrent..

Blog # 1

Hi guys ... Sorry but it took me a little while to figure this thing out.. For the class assignment we were to read Andrea Lunsford. I found it a bit hard and uneasy to read and comprehend what what she was saying. She was a little unclear with the whole collaboration thing. I understand how she feels it can promote a better or easier way of writing but then why is it that schools are not for it? My summary process was reading it a few times and then writing how I interpreted to be. I feel that my summary is a little choppy and hard to read but than again that's how I feel the story was to be. Hopefully the next class will make it a little bit clearer for me.
