Blog # 13

Our tutoring sessions and Newkirk beliefs coenside closely. Newkirk says that students should be given the opportunity to talk within the first few minutes of the conference. With my experience I learned that the classmates I have tutored talk in the first few minutes of class. They state why they are there and what they need help with to make their paper alot stronger. Sessions usually began with a student and tutor introduction. Then the student or the tutor trys to figure out the problem that they are having with their paper. They use many diffrent techniques and styles to correct the paper and have the student leave understanding what they need to do and what they are going to do. After many questions and suggestions the student should leave with a focus on their paper. Newkirk suggests understanding and focus for the session to be a success and with the expeiences I've came across I feel he's right on the money!
